After nailing five playoff teams and the World Series champs, I look to gain this year!
AL East
1. New York Yankees 97-65
2. Boston Red Sox 95-67
3. Tampay Bay Rays 91-71
4. Toronto Blue Jays 70-92
5. Baltimore Orioles 66-96
The Yankees are again the best team in the league. With the additions of Curtis Granderson and Javier Vazquez they look to be even better in their defense of last seasons World Series. Boston will again be on their tales.
AL Central
1. Minnesota Twins 91-71
2. Cleveland Indians 83-79
3. Chicago White Sox 82-80
4. Detroit Tigers 79-83
5. Kansas City Royals 68-94
After signing Joe Mauer to a long extension the Twins are poised to open the new ballpark with a division winner. While no team in the division is great, four teams have a realistic chance to win it. The Indians are in another rebuilding stretch after trading Cliff Lee and Victor Martinez last season, but do have good young talent and what appears to be a re-born Fausto Carmona.
AL West
1. Seattle Mariners 91-71
2. LA Angels 89-73
3. Texas Rangers 83-79
4. Oakland Athletics 69-93
Did the Mariners do enough this winter to win the division? The big question is how soon they get Cliff Lee back.
NL East
1. Philadelphia Phillies 96-66
2. Atlanta Braves 89-73
3. Florida Marlins 83-79
4. New York Mets 78-84
5. Washington Nationals 64-98
The Phillies should have no problem winning their third straight division. They ousted Cliff Lee only to upgrade with Roy Halladay. The Braves are young and talented, let by rookie Jason Heyward.
NL Central
1. St. Louis Cardinals 90-72
2. Chicago Cubs 83-79
3. Cincinnati Reds 83-79
4. Milwaukee Brewers 75-87
5. Pittsburgh Pirates 70-92
6. Houston Astros 61-101
The Cardinals are again the cream of the crop in this lackluster division. The Reds look to be improved with a young, talented rotation.
NL West
1. Colorado Rockies 92-70
2. San Francisco Giants 89-73
3. Los Angeles Dodgers 83-79
4. Arizona Diamondbacks 74-88
5. San Diego Padres 67-95
The Rockies look to continue on last season's success. The Giants are a team poised to break out, but it may not be till next season. The Dodgers will only go as far as their rotation, and that's not going to be very far.
AL Divisional Series
New York Yankees 3 Seattle Mariners 1
Minnesota Twins 3 Boston Red Sox 2
AL Championship Series
New York Yankees 4 Minnesota Twins 2
NL Divisional Series
Colorado Rockies 3 Atlanta Braves* 2
Philadelphia Phillies 3 St. Louis Cardinals 1
*Braves beat Giants in one game playoff (Hanson over Lincecum)
NL Championship Series
Philadelphia Phillies 4 Colorado Rockies 1
World Series
Philadelphia Phillies 4 New York Yankees 2
AL Cy Young: Jon Lester
AL MVP: Evan Longoria
AL ROY: Austin Jackson
NL Cy Young: Roy Halladay (unanimous)
NL MVP: Albert Pujols
NL ROY: Stephen Strasburg
Roy Halladay leads the Phillies to a World Series!!
All this will wrong and the Indians will win it all!
